Banned Books Week: September 21-27, 2014

Celebrate the freedom to read with the Melrose Park Public Library as we show films based on banned or challenged books every day of the week from September 22 to September 26. Banned Books Week is a nationwide effort to draw attention to the harms of censorship. For more information on Banned Books Weeks and a complete listing of frequently challenged books, check out the American Library Association’s website.

You are never too old to learn @ your library:

With the help of our staff, Consuelo has been able to conquer basic computer skills and use these skills to further explore electronic resources provided by the Melrose Park Public Library. Starting with the basics, Consuelo learned computer operating skills such as how to use a mouse and typing. Using these skills, she started her first email account at the library. Currently, she is using our electronic resource, Mango Languages, to better her English-language skills. MPPL provides an array of resources to further your computer skills and make you self-sufficient in adult learning.
