New Fine Rate and Increase in Printing Fees

Effective November 1,2010, black & white prints and copies will increase to 15 cents per page.

Fines for books, CDs, Audiobooks, and magazines will increase to 15 cents per day. DVD and Multimedia fines will remain $2.00 per day.

Starting January 1,2011, there will be a $3.00 charge for OCLC requests.

Melrose Park Library Youth Services Department Receives Grant from Target for the Reading Takes You Places storytime series

The Youth Services department announced a partnership with Target® in recognition of its efforts in early literacy education. The grant will allow us to obtain materials to make our storytimes more interactive and exciting with story-telling props, craft supplies, books, and family-friendly seating.

What can I do with my preschoolers this winter?

Storytime, Families with kids 5 & under

Join us every Thursday morning for songs, rhymes, crafts, and lots of great books at our storytime.

Thuesday mornings, 10-10:45am

Saturday Stories & Games, Families with kids 5 & under

Bring your little ones to the library for some stories and games once a month on Saturday mornings, We'll do a craft, sing songs, and read stories.

Mail Order Homes

Thanks to a grant from the Illinois Humanities Council, the Melrose Park Public Library partnered with four area libraries/historical societies to continue research on mail-order homes. Architectural surveys have been completed for River Forest, Maywood, Bellwood, and Elmhurst. Visit the Mail-Order Homes Database documenting the mail-order homes identified.
