Dig into Reading

Dig into Reading this summer at the Melrose Park Library. Registration for the Summer Reading Program is open, so join us for your chance to win prizes and more!

Buried Treasure

Uncover the secrets of the ancient world in this archeology program, full of Egyptian artifacts and mummies! We will play games, learn facts, and get mummified at this program for kids going into grades 1-6. Registration is required.

Dinosaur Dance

Come to the library for a dinosaur dance party! We’ll be sharing stories, dancing and roaring, and making a dinosaur craft. All families with children ages 3-7 are invited to attend. Registration is required.

Seashell Sandcastles

Bring your buckets and shovels – it’s time to get sandy! Join us as we make amazing seashell and sand creatures into wonderful castles. For kids going into grades 1-6. Registration is required.

We’ll be playing life-sized Candyland in our basement, with each kid being their own Candyland game piece. Registration is required, and this program is for all ages.

Marvelous Butterflies

Get ready for a truly wonderful experience this July at the library! We will be growing Painted Lady butterflies and releasing them into the wild on the last week of Summer Reading! At this event, kids will help prepare the caterpillars to begin their life-cycle, all while having tons of fun! Butterflies will be released on Friday, July 26th – the last day of Summer Reading! This program is for kids going into grades 1-6. Registration is required.

Join us for a group storytime and activity stations where children can practice different reading skills. Ages 3-7,  registration is required.
