Books at Home

Unable to come to the library? Let the library come to you! The Books at Home service is for homebound patrons residing in Melrose Park's 60160 zip code. The library wants to help you continue the love of reading by delivering library materials to your home. One-on-One Computer Classes

The library offers free introductory classes to patrons on an individual basis. To sign up for a One-on-One Computer session, call the Reference Desk at 708.343.3391 x7485 or visit us in-person. Sessions are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Please schedule your appointment at least one week in advance.  Alternate times may be possible depending on staff availability. There are three lessons available: Introduction to Email, Basic Internet Searching, and introduction to Microsoft Word 2007.

 

Computers, Internet 

The Library provides free Internet access computer stations to Melrose Park Library patrons with a valid/good standing Melrose Park Library card. Non Melrose Park library card holders pay a fee for use the Internet access computer stations (excluding the express stations).

 

Microsoft Office applications are available on the Public Internet access PC stations and on the Word processing computers in the Adult Department and the game computers in the Youth Services Department.

 

Computers are available from the time the Library opens until 15 minutes before closing time; all sessions automatically end 15 minutes prior to closing.

 

Wi-Fi

The Library's WiFi network can be accessed from any wireless enabled device, however, the WiFi network does not provide the ability to print the library’s printers.
