Just in Time for Halloween!!

October 18, 2014

Want to read something spooky or paranormal, but don't have the time to commit to a 400 page novel that is part of a four book series and you know if you read one, you'll have to read them all? Well don't worry,

These Books Feature Short Stories Dealing with the Supernatural

Acclaimed paranormal fiction authors Maggie Stiefvater, Tessa Gratton and Brenna Yovanoff bring you The Curiosities, a short story collection featuring handwritten notes from the authors on their writing processes. In some of the stories you'll see "a vampire locked in a cage in the basement, for good luck. Bad guys, clever girls, and the various reasons why the guys have to stop breathing. A world where fire never goes out (with references to vanilla ice cream and renewable angst)."

The Curiosities: A Collection of Stories by Maggie Stiefvater, Tessa Gratton and Brenna Yovanoff

Short stories written by real-life ghost hunters! You decide what is really the paranormal at work or what is just a trick of the mind.

Ghost Hunt: Chilling Tales of the Unknown by Jason Hawes & Grant Wilson with Cameron Dokey

Looking for a little romance with your supernatural? With stories by some of the biggest paranormal writers in young adult fiction today, Kiss Me Deadly recounts 13 Tales of Paranormal Love.

Kiss Me Deadly: 13 Tales of Paranormal Love  edited by Tricia Telep

This title is for those looking for a little more fantasy with their spookiness. "A voodoo princess, a necromancer, and a wizard's apprentice mingle with enchanted jewelry, talking amphibians, and an aloof unicorn."

Magic in the Mirrorstone: Tales of Fantasy edited by Steve Berman

Classic short stories by the original master of horror himself. This audiobook will leave your heart pounding.

The Best of Edgar Allan Poe read by Edward Blake

What if your prom date was the Grim Reaper? Featuring stories from renowned young adult authors such as Stephenie Meyer and Meg Cabot, this book is "just good, creepy fun."

Prom Nights from Hell by Meg Cabot, Kim Harrison, Michele Jaffe, Stephenie Meyer & Lauren Myracle

Truly gruesome and gorey, this book features 10 original stories of the supernatural from such authors as Holly Black, Marcus Sedgwick and Chris Wooding.

The Restless Dead: Ten Original Tales of the Supernatural edited by Deborah Noyes

What keeps you up all night? Six award-winning and bestselling authors tell six stories, some supernatural, of the kind of things that keep different people up all night.
